PBL top team - UMMC Ekaterinburg (10-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Dyn.-GUVD (2-9) in Novosibirsk 83-46. The game without a history. UMMC Ekaterinburg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dyn.-GUVD to just 3 points in fourth quarter. UMMC Ekaterinburg dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Dyn.-GUVD's 38. UMMC Ekaterinburg forced 25 Dyn.-GUVD turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a quality performance of French center Sandrine Gruda (193-87) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 8 rebounds and Italian-American Diana Taurasi (182-82, college: Connecticut) who added 13 points and 8 assists during the contest. Four UMMC Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Liubov Paskalenko (205-90) with 12 points and American center Devereaux Peters (187-89, college: Notre Dame) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UMMC Ekaterinburg have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 10-1 record. Dyn.-GUVD lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Enisey. UMMC Ekaterinburg will play against bottom-ranked Spartak Noginsk (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dyn.-GUVD will play against Energy Ivanovo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
