Regular Season Round 15: Dynamo MO - Spartak-Prim. 71-72 OT

Dynamo Moscow (#7) forced the game against Spartak-Prim. (#6) into an overtime, but lost by one point 71-72 on Saturday night. The game took place in Moscow. But the guests from Vladivostok were better at the end. Dynamo Moscow trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 21-6 last quarter charge cut the deficit to tie the game 60-60 at the end of regular time. But then they lost overtime period 11-12. Dynamo Moscow was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for forward Alexander Fomin (206-86, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. The former international forward Nikita Morgounov (210-75, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was point guard Denis Zakharov (193-93) with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and center Nikita Stepanenkov (208-87) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Spartak-Prim. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Univ.Surgut. Dynamo Moscow at the other side dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Spartak-Prim. will face league's leader Avtodor in Saratov in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dynamo Moscow will play at home against Ataman (#12) and hope to win that game.
