Very important is a home loss of second ranked ZTE NKK (5-5) against top-ranked UNI Gyor (5-0) on Sunday night. Host ZTE NKK was crushed by UNI Gyor in Zalaegerszeg 81-41. The game was mostly controlled by UNI Gyor. ZTE NKK was better in fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ZTE NKK to just 4 points in third quarter. UNI Gyor's coach Tamas Bencze felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Judit Fritz (183-87, college: St.Francis, NY, agency: Interperformances) responded with 11 points and Petra Vagvolgyi (192-93) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. UNI Gyor have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. ZTE NKK lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third position with five games lost. UNI Gyor will play against MKB Eurl.Vasas (#5) in Budapest in the next round. ZTE NKK will play at home against MTK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
