Regular Season Round 18: PVSK Pannon - Atomeromu 87-83

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Atomeromu (15-3) in Pecs on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by eleventh ranked PVSK Pannon (6-12) 87-83. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Atomeromu. Atomeromu trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 28-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 83-87 at the end of the game. It was a good game for American guard Anthony Nelson (185-89, college: Niagara) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 6 assists. International guard Peter Kovacs (189-88) contributed with 17 points and 4 steals for the winners. American Rodney McGruder (193-91, college: Kansas St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Akos Kovacs (184-88, agency: TSS Management) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for Atomeromu. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Atomeromu's coach Branislav Dzunic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. PVSK Pannon moved-up to ninth place, which they share with ZTE KK and Szedeak. Atomeromu at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. PVSK Pannon is looking forward to face higher ranked Jaszberenyi (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Atomeromu will play against the league's second-placed Alba (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
