Regular Season Round 19: Alba - Atomeromu 81-65

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of top-ranked Atomeromu (15-4) in Szekesfehervar on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Alba (13-6) 81-65. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Alba. Atomeromu managed to win second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alba forced 22 Atomeromu turnovers and outrebounded them 42-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Norbert Toth (203-86, agency: TSS Management) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Alba players scored in double figures. Alba's coach Carlos Frade used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American Rodney McGruder (193-91, college: Kansas St.) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Jarrod Jones (205-90, college: Ball St.) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Defending champion maintains second place with 13-6 record having just two points less than leader Atomeromu, which they share with KTE-Duna Aszfalt. Atomeromu at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Alba is looking forward to face ZTE KK (#9) in Zalaegerszeg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Atomeromu will play at home against Szedeak (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
