Regular Season Round 24: Rodniki Izh. - BK Tambov 83-78

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked BK Tambov (17-6) in Izhevsk on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Rodniki Izh. (12-7) 83-78. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Rodniki Izh. forced 22 BK Tambov turnovers. Strangely BK Tambov outrebounded Rodniki Izh. 45-25 including a 17-6 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Stanislav Dubinin (196-90) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 7 rebounds and center Mikhail Fakhreev (212-86) who added 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Rodniki Izh. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Konstantin Mirzoyants (203-89) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Ivan Gavrilov (199-85) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. BK Tambov's coach Viktor Kolodin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rodniki Izh. moved-up to fourth place in League. BK Tambov at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Rodniki Izh. are again looking forward to face league's leader BK Tambov at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. BK Tambov will have a break next round.
