Regular Season Round 10: UNI Gyor - ZTE NKK 77-59

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked UNI Gyor as it allowed them to take a leadership position. UNI Gyor defeated 3rd ranked ZTE NKK at home 77-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ZTE NKK. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-59. UNI Gyor dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to ZTE NKK's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Joslyn Tinkle (190-90, college: Stanford) scored 26 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Dannielle Diamant (196-91, college: Northwestern) chipped in 16 points during the contest. UNI Gyor's coach Tamas Bencze used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Montenegrin power forward Sanja Knezevic (188-84) responded with 24 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Tunde Czukor (181-84) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. UNI Gyor (8-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. ZTE NKK at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. ZTE NKK will play next round against strong Atomeromu trying to get back on the winning streak. UNI Gyor will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
