Not a big story in a game in Irkutsk where 9th ranked Irkut-2 (4-17) was outplayed by second ranked MBA Moscow (16-4) 84-63 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-63. MBA Moscow dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Irkut-2's 32. MBA Moscow forced 24 Irkut-2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Power forward Alexander Tikhonin (205-92) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Konstantin Babynin (192-88) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Dmitriy Lagunov (-87) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds and guard Yakov Ilenko (187-94) added 9 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted MBA Moscow maintains second place in League with 16-4 record having just three points less than leader Neftekhimik T. Irkut-2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost. MBA Moscow will face Tegas DR (#6) in the next round. Irkut-2 will play against the league's leader BK Tambov and hope to win that game.
