Regular Season Round 26: MBA Moscow - Tegas DR 84-62

Rather predictable result when second ranked MBA Moscow (18-4) rolled over at home 6th ranked Tegas DR (9-16) 84-62 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by MBA Moscow. Tegas DR was better in fourth quarter 17-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MBA Moscow dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Tegas DR's 20. MBA Moscow forced 22 Tegas DR turnovers. It was a great shooting night for MBA Moscow especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Tegas DR's players. Power forward Alexander Tikhonin (205-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Pavel Shavkunov (190-91) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four MBA Moscow players scored in double figures. MBA Moscow's coach Valeri Sizov felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Andrey Dorofeev (203-90) replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds and guard Anton Tusikov (189-89) added 11 points in the effort for Tegas DR. Newly promoted MBA Moscow maintains second position in League with 18-4 record behind leader BK Tambov. Tegas DR at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth place with 16 games lost. MBA Moscow will face Elbrus Cherk. (#7) in Cherkessk in the next round where they are favorite. Tegas DR will play on the road against Dynamo-MGTU in Maykop and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
