The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Avtodor as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Avtodor smashed 14th ranked Irkut Irkutsk in Saratov 112-61. The game without a history. Avtodor led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Irkut Irkutsk to just 6 points in first quarter. Avtodor dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Irkut Irkutsk's 38 and made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Avtodor forced 20 Irkut Irkutsk turnovers and outrebounded them 41-27 including a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: Three Eye Sports) stepped up and scored 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and center Artem Klimenko (214-94) chipped in 19 points. Five Avtodor players scored in double figures. Avtodor's coach Vladimir Antsiferov felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Aleksandr Semchenko (211-89) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and forward Andrei Sepelev (204-73) scored 15 points. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Irkut Irkutsk lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost. Irkut Irkutsk will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Avtodor will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Universitet-Yugra in Surgut.
