Regular Season Round 26: MBA Moscow - Tegas DR 82-64

Very expected game when 6th ranked Tegas DR (9-16) lost on the road to second ranked MBA Moscow (18-4) 82-64 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by MBA Moscow. Tegas DR was better in fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MBA Moscow dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tegas DR's 36. MBA Moscow forced 19 Tegas DR turnovers. Power forward Alexander Tikhonin (205-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Egor Shahmetov contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five MBA Moscow players scored in double figures. MBA Moscow's coach Valeri Sizov used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Andrey Dorofeev (203-90) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Ilya Sinkevich (194-91) added 18 points in the effort for Tegas DR. Newly promoted MBA Moscow maintains second position in League with 18-4 record behind leader BK Tambov. Tegas DR at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth place with 16 games lost. MBA Moscow will face Elbrus Cherk. (#7) in Cherkessk in the next round where they are favorite. Tegas DR will play on the road against Dynamo-MGTU in Maykop and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
