Regular Season Round 16: Bellinzona - Martigny 70-58

Date: February 15, 2014
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Bellinzona (8-5) beat at home 6th ranked Martigny (2-11) 70-58. It looked good early as Martigny took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Bellinzona had a 23-9 second period charge getting the lead and Martigny was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-70. Martigny was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for Cuban-Italian center Yadiletsy Rios (190-77) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Cuban forward Luisa Avila Lopez (183-90) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. Bellinzona's coach Scott Twehues allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Lamisha Augustine (186-82, college: San Jose St., agency: LBM Management) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center Katia Clement (183-85) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Bellinzona maintains fourth place with 8-5 record. Martigny at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Pully and Hope-Geneve.
