Very important is a road loss of second ranked Sojuz Zaretchny (13-9) against sixth ranked Dynamo Kursk (10-12) on Wednesday night. Visiting Sojuz Zaretchny was defeated by Dynamo Kursk in Kursk 76-63. The game was mostly controlled by Dynamo Kursk. Sojuz Zaretchny was better in second period 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sojuz Zaretchny to just 4 points in third quarter. 28 personal fouls committed by Sojuz Zaretchny helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for point guard Artur Uskov (178-91) who led his team to a victory with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Roman Shapovalov (200-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Dmitriy Ezhov (207-91) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and center Anton Lanchakov (202-85) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Sojuz Zaretchny. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dynamo Kursk maintains sixth place in League with 10-12 record. Sojuz Zaretchny at the other side dropped to the third position with nine games lost. Dynamo Kursk's next round opponent will be Kamit-Univ. (#8) in Tver. Sojuz Zaretchny will play on the road against Krasn.Krylia S. (#7) in Samara and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the Superleague just one year after relegation.
