Very expected game in Saransk where 13th ranked Ataman (3-15) was defeated by seventh ranked Ruskon-Mordovia (12-9) 88-70 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Ruskon-Mordovia. Ataman managed to win fourth quarter 27-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ataman to just 2 points in first quarter. Point guard Alexandr Varnakov (185-92) scored 20 points to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Gleb Gerasimenko (182-88) chipped in 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals during the contest.
