Second Stage Round 3: MTK - WF DVTK 63-77

The game in Budapest was also worth to mention about. WF DVTK (8-3) played at the court of MTK (3-8). WF DVTK defeated MTK 77-63. It looked good early as MTK took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then WF DVTK had a 18-13 second period charge getting the lead and MTK was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-77. They outrebounded MTK 48-36 including 19 on the offensive glass. WF DVTK players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. MTK was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Rebecca Tobin (195-88, college: Arizona St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Brittainey Raven (183-88, college: Texas) helped adding 11 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists and 6 steals. The best for the losing side was Bosnian center Dragana Svitlica (190-88, agency: IPSA) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and guard Dora Medgyessy (174-86) scored 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. WF DVTK will play against UNI Gyor at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. MTK will play against Cegledi EKK (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
