The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Boncourt's (3-18) road loss to seventh ranked EI Massagno (5-16) 94-107 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 107-94. EI Massagno dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Boncourt's 40. American forward Cory Johnson (200-88, college: Valparaiso) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Dante Taylor (206-90, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. EI Massagno maintains seventh place with 5-16 record. Loser Boncourt stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. EI Massagno will meet league's second-placed Neuchatel on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Boncourt will play against the league's leader Lugano Tigers (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
