The game had a very big importance for second-ranked MKB Euroleasing as it allowed them to take a leadership position. MKB Euroleasing smashed 10th ranked MKB Eurl.Vasas in Sopron 70-45. The game without a history. MKB Euroleasing led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding MKB Eurl.Vasas to just 6 points in second quarter. MKB Euroleasing forced 21 MKB Eurl.Vasas turnovers and outrebounded them 36-22 including 21 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American forward Tianna Hawkins (191-91, college: Maryland) who scored that evening 20 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Kelly Faris (180-91, college: Connecticut) supported her with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds by power forward Judit Barnai (190-94) did not help to save the game for MKB Eurl.Vasas. Forward Krisztina Sule (178-87) added 6 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. MKB Euroleasing (10-3) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. MKB Eurl.Vasas lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. MKB Eurl.Vasas will play next round against Cegledi EKK trying to get back on the winning streak. MKB Euroleasing will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked ZTE NKK at Zalaegerszeg.
