The game had a very big importance for second-ranked WF DVTK as it allowed them to take a leadership position. WF DVTK smashed 7th ranked ZTE NKK in Miskolc 95-51. The game without a history. WF DVTK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to ZTE NKK's 30 and made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They outrebounded ZTE NKK 49-28 including a 38-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. WF DVTK looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by ZTE NKK's players. 27 personal fouls committed by ZTE NKK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American forward Rebecca Tobin (195-88, college: Arizona St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Icelandic swingman Helena Sverrisdottir (185-88, college: TCU) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. WF DVTK's coach Akos Peresztegi Nagy felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Zsofia Varga (182-89) replied with 19 points and Serbian guard Smiljana Ivanovic (176-88) added 11 points in the effort for ZTE NKK. WF DVTK (11-3) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with UNI Gyor. ZTE NKK at the other side keeps the seventh place with eight games lost. ZTE NKK will play next round against strong PEAC-Pecs trying to get back on the winning streak. WF DVTK will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked MKB Eurl.Vasas in Budapest.
