Second Stage Round 2: KTE-Duna Aszfalt - Atomeromu 67-71

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of KTE-Duna Aszfalt (1-1) in Papa on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Atomeromu (2-0) 71-67. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-16. But KTE-Duna Aszfalt won second period 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 27 personal fouls committed by KTE-Duna Aszfalt helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Deonta Vaughn (185-86, college: Cincinnati) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international forward Zsolt Szabo (202-86, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Atomeromu's coach Branislav Dzunic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. International point guard Krisztian Wittmann (184-85) responded with 17 points and 4 assists and Serbian center Kemal Karahodzic (210-89) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Atomeromu are looking forward to face Alba (#6) in Szekesfehervar in the next round where they are favorite. KTE-Duna Aszfalt will play at home against Szolnok and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
