We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Dynamo Moscow (15-10) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Ural Ekaterinburg (15-6) 82-76 on Friday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-76. The best player for the winners was American guard Lance Harris (195-84, college: Kansas St.) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized Spanish power forward Dmitriy Flis (204-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Gleb Plotnikov (190-91, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Denis Zakharov (193-93) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Four Dynamo Moscow players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ural Ekaterinburg moved-up to fourth place. Loser Dynamo Moscow dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Ural Ekaterinburg will meet Ataman (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dynamo Moscow will play against Universitet-Yugra (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
