Regular Season Round 21: Fribourg - Bellinzona 108-58

The game between third ranked Bellinzona (10-8) and fourth ranked Fribourg (11-7) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Bellinzona was crushed by Fribourg in Fribourg 58-108. The game without a history. Fribourg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bellinzona to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Fribourg dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Bellinzona's 38 and made 27-of-30 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game, while Bellinzona only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Bellinzona 39-22 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Erica Morrow (172-89, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 29 points, 6 assists and 7 steals. Her fellow American import forward Marshae Dotson (180-87, college: Florida, agency: Merit Management Group) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Fribourg's coach Romain Gaspoz felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard Karen Twehues (182-83, college: Cincinnati) answered with 15 points and naturalized Cuban forward Luisa Avila Lopez (183-90) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Bellinzona. Five Fribourg and four Bellinzona players scored in double figures. Fribourg moved-up to third place. Bellinzona at the other side dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost.
