Very important is a road loss of third ranked UNI Gyor (11-5) against fourth ranked MKB Euroleasing (11-3) on Thursday night. Visiting UNI Gyor was crushed by MKB Euroleasing in Sopron 99-66. The game without a history. MKB Euroleasing led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to UNI Gyor's 38. They outrebounded UNI Gyor 39-17 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for MKB Euroleasing especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. International guard Zsofia Simon (181-89, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 assists. Power forward Zsofia Licskai (189-93) contributed with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. MKB Euroleasing's coach Igor Polenek felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Joslyn Tinkle (190-90, college: Stanford) replied with 20 points and 5 rebounds and her fellow American import power forward Dannielle Diamant (196-91, college: Northwestern) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for UNI Gyor. MKB Euroleasing have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to third place. UNI Gyor at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. MKB Euroleasing will play against bottom-ranked MKB Eurl.Vasas (#10) in Budapest in the next round and are hoping to win another game. UNI Gyor will play at home against the league's leader WF DVTK (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
