The game had a very big importance for second-ranked WF DVTK as it allowed them to take a leadership position. WF DVTK smashed 8th ranked MTK in Miskolc 77-47. The game without a history. WF DVTK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding MTK to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded MTK 52-29 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Rebecca Tobin (195-88, college: Arizona St.) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds. Latvian power forward Liene Jansone (190-81, college: Siena) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four WF DVTK players scored in double figures. Guard Dora Medgyessy (174-86) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and Bosnian center Dragana Svitlica (190-88, agency: IPSA) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. WF DVTK (13-3) have an impressive nine-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. MTK lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. MTK will play next round against Cegledi EKK trying to get back on the winning streak. WF DVTK will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked UNI Gyor on the road.
