Second Stage Round 9: Falco KC - Kormend 101-97

Round 9 in A Division means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Szombathely where host Falco KC (11-21) beat league's leader Kormend (18-15) 101-97 on Wednesday evening. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 31-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Falco KC made 28-of-33 free shots (84.8 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Falco KC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. 27 personal fouls committed by Kormend helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Slovenian forward Zeljko Zagorac (204-81) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). American guard Chad Timberlake (194-84, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 23 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Liberian point guard Jaytornah Wisseh (185-88, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: COSMOS International SM) who recorded 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American swingman Muhammad El-Amin (196-87, college: Stony Brook, agency: KMG Sports Management) added 21 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Falco KC and four Kormend players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Falco KC maintains sixth place in Division with 11-21 record. Kormend at the other side dropped to the second position with 15 games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Atomeromu. Kormend will play next round against league's leader PVSK Pannon trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Falco KC will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Szedeak in Szeged.
