Second Stage Round 9: Kaposvari - KTE-Duna Aszfalt 72-62

Very important is a road loss of third ranked KTE-Duna Aszfalt (3-6) against fifth ranked Kaposvari (4-5) on Friday night. Visiting KTE-Duna Aszfalt was defeated by Kaposvari in Kaposvar 72-62. The game was mostly controlled by Kaposvari. KTE-Duna Aszfalt managed to win third quarter 17-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kaposvari made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Kaposvari had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by KTE-Duna Aszfalt's players. Croatian guard Hrvoje Puljko (193-83, agency: Global Sports Plaza) stepped up and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and the former international Roland Hendlein (205-86) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was international point guard Krisztian Wittmann (184-85) with 15 points and Serbian swingman Marko Derasimovic (199-84, agency: BeoExcell) scored 12 points. Kaposvari moved-up to third place in Division. Newly promoted KTE-Duna Aszfalt dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Kaposvari will meet Alba (#6) in the next round. KTE-Duna Aszfalt will play against Sopron KC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
