Qualifying Round Round 1: ASVEL - Oostende 86-77

ASVEL upset the fans at the Sleuter Arena with a comfortable victory over the local favourites Oostende at the start of the EuroLeague Qualifying Round. ASVEL will now take on their French rivals Strasbourg for the spot in the Qualifying Round Final. ASVEL dropped 24 points in the first frame to jump at 4-point lead. Telenet Oostende bounced back pretty quickly. They erased the deficit in the second frame and tied things at 43 at the interval. ASVEL stiffened defensively in the third quarter. The French team held the hosts to just 13 points in the third term and regained the lead. ASVEL entered the fourth frame up by six points 62:56. ASVEL unloaded 24 points in the final period and got away with a convincing victory at the end. Amara Sy finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead ASVEL. Edwin Jackson contributed 20 points for the winners. Mateusz Ponitka responded with 17 points for Oostende. Jared Berggren had 13 points in the loss.
