Regular Season Round 1: Kaposvari - MAFC 92-59

Date: October 10, 2014
Kaposvari used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Budapest 92-59 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Kaposvari. MAFC was better in fourth quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kaposvari dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to MAFC's 28 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Kaposvari looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Kaposvari made 7 blocks. American Nikolas Raivio (194-86, college: Portland) stepped up and scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and naturalized Serbian Branislav Jancikin (198-86, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kaposvari players scored in double figures. At the losing side Greek center Stavros Toutziarakis (210-87, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 7 points and 16 rebounds and guard Zsolt Lakosa (194-91, college: MidAmerica Naz.) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kaposvari will face Szedeak in Szeged in the next round which should be another easy win for them.
