Regular Season Round 4: Szedeak - MAFC 78-73

Bottom-ranked MAFC (0-3) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to seventh ranked Szedeak (2-1) 78-73. It looked good early as MAFC took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Szedeak had a 19-10 second period charge getting the lead and MAFC was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-78. Szedeak made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 MAFC turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by MAFC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for Serbian center Darko Balaban (211-89) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian point guard Branko Jereminov (187-87) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Greek center Stavros Toutziarakis (210-87, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Levente Misek (193-93) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for MAFC. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Szedeak moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted MAFC still closes the standings with three games lost. Szedeak's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Falco KC in Szombathely and it may be quite challenging game. MAFC will play at home against Atomeromu and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
