Musson has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive loses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Samara, where they defeated Samara-2 (2-2) 81-76 on Monday. Musson made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Samara-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 41-28 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Alexander Matveev (190-91) who scored 29 points and 5 steals. Kirill Pishchalnikov (204-87, college: VCU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Five Musson players scored in double figures. Vladimir Okorokov (196-92) produced 20 points and Armenian center Vladimir Radivoevich (203-95) added 4 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Samara-2's coach Igor Gratchev tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Musson maintains eighth place with 1-3 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Samara-2 dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Cheboksari and MBA-Runa. Musson will meet at home league's second-placed Dynamo-MGTU in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samara-2 will have a break next round.
