Regular Season Round 4: Neftyanik - MBA-Dynamo 65-66

Very significant was MBA-Dynamo's just 1-point road victory against top-ranked Neftyanik 66-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Neftyanik. It was a key game for the top position in the league. MBA-Dynamo made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Neftyanik turnovers. The winners were led by Ekaterina Sytnyak (184-82, agency: LBM Management) who scored that evening 16 points and 8 rebounds and Anna Leshovceva (182-87) supported her with 18 points. Even 11 points and 8 rebounds by swingman Yana Matveeva (186-92) did not help to save the game for Neftyanik. Forward Irina Ostapova (180-86) added 11 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. MBA-Dynamo (5-1) used an opportunity after Ladoga SP lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Neftyanik at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. MBA-Dynamo will play against Irtysh (#5) in Pavlograd in the next round. Neftyanik will play at home against the league's leader Ladoga SP and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
