Regular Season Round 4: Kazanochka - Voronezh 52-64

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Kazanochka (1-1) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by eighth ranked Voronezh-SKIF (1-3) 64-52. Voronezh-SKIF dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Kazanochka's 18. Voronezh-SKIF forced 20 Kazanochka turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Galina Litvinenko (186-83) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and center Yuliya Garkavskaya (203-91) who added 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks during the contest. Four Voronezh-SKIF players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Olga Sizyakova (186-88) responded with 13 points and 8 rebounds and the former international center Maria Nikitina (200-84) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Voronezh-SKIF maintains eighth position with 1-3 record. Kazanochka at the other side keeps the sixth place with one game lost. They share the position with Samara. Voronezh-SKIF are looking forward to face higher ranked Samara (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kazanochka will play against Gloria Moscow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
