Regular Season Round 5: Falco KC - Szedeak 122-98

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Falco KC as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Falco KC smashed 6th ranked Szedeak in Szombathely 122-98. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Szedeak. The game was mostly controlled by Falco KC. Szedeak was better in second period 27-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Falco KC shot 66.2 percent from the field and made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Falco KC outrebounded Szedeak 35-15 including a 25-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Falco KC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Szedeak's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Montenegrin point guard Goran Martinic (187-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 7 assists. Swingman Zoltan Perl (195-95, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) contributed with 23 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Falco KC's coach Laszlo Kalman felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Serbian point guard Branko Jereminov (187-87) answered with 33 points (!!!) and Serbian center Darko Balaban (211-89) added 19 points in the effort for Szedeak. Five Falco KC and four Szedeak players scored in double figures. Falco KC have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Szedeak at the other side dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. Szedeak will play next round against strong Atomeromu trying to get back on the winning streak. Falco KC will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Kormend on the road.
