Regular Season Round 5: Alba - Sopron KC 82-75

Round 5 in A Division means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Szekesfehervar where host Alba (3-2) beat league's leader Sopron KC (4-1) 82-75 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sopron KC. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sopron KC won third quarter 17-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Cleveland Melvin (203-91, college: De Paul, agency: Three Eye Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Brandon Wood (187-89, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four Alba players scored in double figures. International point guard Dontay Thomas (187-84, college: La Salle) produced 24 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Montenegrin swingman Milos Borisov (198-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) added 22 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Alba moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Marso NYKK. Sopron KC at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with Atomeromu. They were replaced at the leadership position by Falco KC. Sopron KC will play next round against Jaszberenyi trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Alba will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Kaposvari at home.
