Regular Season Round 5: MAFC - Atomeromu 55-76
Date: November 1, 2014
Bottom-ranked MAFC (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 76-55 loss to third ranked Atomeromu (4-1) in Budapest. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game was mostly controlled by Atomeromu. MAFC was better in second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international power forward Adam Toth (206-89, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) nailed 17 points for the winning side and point guard Akos Kovacs (183-88) accounted for 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Coach Branislav Dzunic's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Zsolt Lakosa (194-91, college: MidAmerica Naz.) came up with 15 points and American forward Neiko Hunter (201-90, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 8 points and 4 steals respectively for MAFC in the defeat. Atomeromu have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Sopron KC. Newly promoted MAFC still closes the standings with four games lost. Atomeromu's next round opponent will be Szedeak (#7) in Szeged which should be theoretically another easy game. MAFC will play on the road against KTE-Duna Aszfalt (#4) in Kecskemet and hopes to get finally their first victory.
