Regular Season Round 6: Starwings - Boncourt 85-81

Date: November 7, 2014
LNA top team - Starwings added another victory to their record. This time they beat eighth ranked Boncourt in Basel 85-81. Boncourt was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 30-23 charge of Starwings, which allowed them to win the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American forward A.J. Pacher (208-92, college: Wright St.) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks to lead the effort and the other American import guard Kaylon Williams (190-89, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) supported him with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Even 28 points by American guard Vernard Hollins (190-80, college: Wright St.) did not help to save the game for Boncourt. International Nicolas Dos Santos (200-87) added 21 points and 10 rebounds. Starwings have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Starwings went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Lugano Tigers. Boncourt lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with six games lost. Starwings will play against higher ranked Neuchatel (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Boncourt will play against the league's second-placed Geneve Lions (#2) to get more than just one victory in their record.
