There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Kaposvari (3-3) crushed higher ranked Alba (3-3) in Szekesfehervar 108-88 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kaposvari. Alba managed to win third quarter 29-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kaposvari shot 67.2 percent from the field. Kaposvari had a 23-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. American Nikolas Raivio (193-86, college: Portland) notched 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and the former international power forward Roland Hendlein (204-86) supported him with 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Even 20 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) by the former international power forward Milan Csorvasi (209-88, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) did not help to save the game for Alba. American forward Cleveland Melvin (203-91, college: De Paul, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 19 points and 5 rebounds. Five Kaposvari and four Alba players scored in double figures. Kaposvari moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Alba and PVSK Pannon. Kaposvari will meet Jaszberenyi (#10) on the road in the next round. Alba will have a break next round.
