Regular Season Round 7: Izhevsk - Samara-SGEU 50-79

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Samara-SGEU (4-2) crushed on the road 12th ranked Izhevsk (2-4) 79-50 on Sunday. Samara-SGEU forced 21 Izhevsk turnovers and outrebounded them 46-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Andrey Kirdyachkin (207-90) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Ukrainian guard Oleksii Shchepkin (191-89) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Four Samara-SGEU players scored in double figures. Power forward Aleksey Tsvetkov (207-84) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and forward Vladimir Belov (207-84) added 12 points respectively for Izhevsk in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Samara-SGEU moved-up to third place. Izhevsk lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with four games lost. They share it with AltajBasket. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
