Regular Season Round 8: Univ.Surgut - Novosybirsk 78-58

There was a change at the Superleague leadership position after last games. Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Novosybirsk (6-1). They were crushed by tenth ranked Universitet-Yugra (4-3) 78-58 on Tuesday night. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Novosybirsk. Universitet-Yugra forced 19 Novosybirsk turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian Nikola Lepojevic (195-82, agency: BeoExcell) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Anton Ageev (191-84, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who added 24 points during the contest. Croatian power forward Jure Skific (202-88) responded with 5 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Igor Smygin (197-87, agency: Alti Sport) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Universitet-Yugra moved-up to seventh place. Novosybirsk at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Parma. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
