No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Miskolc (4-1) crushed 8th ranked MTK (1-4) in Budapest 94-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Miskolc. MTK was better in fourth quarter 14-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to MTK's 32 and made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Miskolc forced 21 MTK turnovers and outrebounded them 51-34 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. MTK was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Mali center Naignouma Coulibaly (191-89, agency: Regeneracom Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. International guard Timea Czank (177-86, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Miskolc players scored in double figures. Guard Dora Medgyessy (174-86) answered with 12 points and 6 assists and power forward Judit Barnai (190-94) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for MTK. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Miskolc moved-up to second place, which they share with UNI Gyor and PINKK-Pecsi. MTK lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with four games lost. Miskolc will face ZTE NKK (#6) in Zalaegerszeg in the next round.
