Regular Season Round 11: Dynamo MO - Samara-SGEU 78-77

A very close game took place in Moscow between Dynamo Moscow and Samara-SGEU. Twelfth ranked Dynamo Moscow (4-4) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Samara-SGEU (4-4). Dynamo Moscow managed to escape with a 1-point win 78-77 in the fight for the eighth place. Dynamo Moscow dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Samara-SGEU's 30. The best player for the winners was American guard Tyshawn Taylor (191-90, college: Kansas, agency: Interperformances) who scored 21 points. Naturalized Belarusian power forward Valentin Iurchik (209-87, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Guard Vladimir Pichkurov (193-90, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) produced 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Andrey Kirdyachkin (207-90) added 6 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dynamo Moscow moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Spartak-Prim. and Samara-SGEU. Dynamo Moscow will meet at home higher ranked Rossiya Novog. (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samara-SGEU will play against Ryazan (#5) and hope to secure a win.
