Top ranked Sogdiana-Skif (10-2) recorded its second loss in Voronezh on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Elbrus Cherk. (4-6) 70-65. Elbrus Cherk. shot 21 for 28 from the free-throw line, while Sogdiana-Skif only scored four points from the stripe. Elbrus Cherk. forced 20 Sogdiana-Skif turnovers. Point guard Yuriy Karpenko (185-93) fired 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Andrey Pavlov (191-86) chipped in 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Denis Bzhevskiy (202-78) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Kazakhstan forward Nail Gafarov (198-88) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Sogdiana-Skif players scored in double figures. Elbrus Cherk. moved-up to sixth place in League. Sogdiana-Skif at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Elbrus Cherk. are looking forward to face higher ranked Tambov (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
