The game in Massagno supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked Neuchatel (7-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Massagno (2-8). Neuchatel smashed Massagno 84-56 on Saturday. The game without a history. Neuchatel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Neuchatel outrebounded Massagno 42-22 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Senegalese power forward Pape Badji (208-92) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian forward Ivan Kuburovic (202-81) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Neuchatel players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Josh Hairston (203-92, college: Duke) responded with 22 points and his fellow American import point guard Erik Buggs (180-90, college: Valparaiso) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Massagno's coach Robbi Gubitosa gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Neuchatel maintains second position with 7-3 record behind leader Geneve Lions. Massagno lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. They share the position with Boncourt. Neuchatel will meet at home Fribourg (#5) in the next round. Massagno will play against Starwings in Basel and hope to secure a win.
