Kazanochka (#5) was upset in Kazan by eighth ranked BC Rostov 68-49. BC Rostov dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Kazanochka's 16. They outrebounded Kazanochka 37-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for guard Alexandra Stolyar (179-92) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Elena Kharchenko (196-83, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. BC Rostov's coach Nikolaj Tanaseychuk allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international center Maria Nikitina (200-84) replied with 9 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Viktoriya Plotnikova (181-85) added 8 points and 4 assists in the effort for Kazanochka. BC Rostov (5-4) have an impressive five-game winning streak. BC Rostov (5-4) moved-up to fifth place. Kazanochka at the other side dropped to the seventh position with six games lost.
