Regular Season Round 8: MTK - Atomeromu 73-82

Date: December 6, 2014
Rather expected game when 9th ranked MTK (1-7) lost to seventh ranked Atomeromu (2-5) in Budapest 73-82 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But MTK won third quarter 19-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Atomeromu made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 MTK turnovers. The winners were led by swingman Alexandra Theodorean (177-91) who scored that evening 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Serbian center Biljana Stjepanovic (189-87, agency: Josep and Nicolas) supported her with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Even 21 points by guard Bettina Baksa (175-92) did not help to save the game for MTK. The former international guard Barbara Semsei (177-86, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) added 14 points and 4 assists for the hosts. Atomeromu maintains seventh position with 2-5 record. MTK lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with seven games lost. Atomeromu will meet at home bottom-ranked MKB Eurl.Vasas (#10) in the next round. MTK will play against Cegledi EKK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
