No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked PEAC-Pecs (6-2) beat at home 8th ranked Cegledi EKK (1-6) 73-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by PEAC-Pecs. Cegledi EKK managed to win fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PEAC-Pecs forced 24 Cegledi EKK turnovers. The winners were led by American power forward Destiny Williams (185-91, college: Baylor) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and Serbian Nevena Jovanovic (182-90) supported her with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four PEAC-Pecs players scored in double figures. PEAC-Pecs' coach Zeljko Djokic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by international power forward Bettina Bozoki (191-89) did not help to save the game for Cegledi EKK. Serbian guard Brankica Hadzovic (175-81) added 16 points for the guests. PEAC-Pecs have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Cegledi EKK lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. PEAC-Pecs will meet ZTE NKK (#6) in the next round. Cegledi EKK will play against MTK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
