Rather expected game when 5th ranked Spartak Vidnoye (3-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Dynamo Kursk (6-1) 76-67 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dynamo Kursk made 7 blocks. The former international guard Epiphanny Prince (175-88, college: Rutgers) fired 15 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Nigerian-American power forward Nnemkadi Ogwumike (189-90, college: Stanford) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Center Maria Vadeeva (190-98) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Slovenian point guard Nika Baric (169-92) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Spartak Vidnoye's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Dynamo Kursk. They maintain third place with 6-1 record behind leader Nadezhda O. Loser Spartak Vidnoye keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Dynamo Kursk will meet league's second-placed UMMC Ekaterinburg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Spartak Vidnoye will play against Spartak Noginsk and hope to secure a win.
