Regular Season Round 12: ZTE KK - Atomeromu 53-101
Date: December 13, 2014
The game between 13th ranked ZTE KK (1-10) and third ranked Atomeromu (9-2) in Zalaegerszeg on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Paks outscored ZTE KK 101-53. The game without a history. Atomeromu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to ZTE KK's 30. They outrebounded ZTE KK 47-32 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by naturalized American power forward Jarrod Jones (205-90, college: Ball St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American point guard John Roberson (180-88, college: Texas Tech) supported him with 21 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Five Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Cole Darling (203-91, college: Wright St., agency: Dynamics Global Management) did not help to save the game for ZTE KK. Serbian power forward Nemanja Ilic (206-83) added 11 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Atomeromu maintains third position with 9-2 record behind leader KTE-Duna Aszfalt. ZTE KK lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
