Regular Season Round 9: ZTE NKK - PEAC-Pecs 66-64

The most exciting game of round 9 in the A Division took place in Zalaegerszeg. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed PEAC-Pecs (6-3) to sixth ranked ZTE NKK (4-4) 66-64 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of PEAC-Pecs. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 23-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. ZTE NKK forced 21 PEAC-Pecs turnovers. International forward Dorina Zele (185-92) stepped up and scored 29 points for the winners and the former international forward Zsofia Varga (182-89) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. ZTE NKK's coach Tamas Gall used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American power forward Destiny Williams (185-91, college: Baylor) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Serbian Nevena Jovanovic (182-90) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. ZTE NKK maintains sixth place with 4-4 record. PEAC-Pecs at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. ZTE NKK are looking forward to face Atomeromu (#7) in Szekszard in the next round. PEAC-Pecs will have a break next round.
