Regular Season Round 21: Tambov - Sogdiana-Skif 79-58

An interesting game for Tambov (14-4) which hosted in Tambov second-best Sogdiana-Skif (13-5). Third ranked Tambov had an easy win 79-58. It was a key game for the second position in League. Tambov dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Sogdiana-Skif's 32. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Maksim Kuznetsov (188-90) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Mikhail Filimonov (204-84) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five Tambov players scored in double figures. Tambov's coach Viktor Kolodin felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Kirill Baklenev (184-88) who recorded 16 points and 4 assists and naturalized Kazakhstan forward Nail Gafarov (198-88) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Tambov moved-up to second place in League. Sogdiana-Skif at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. Tambov will have a break next round. Sogdiana-Skif will play against Neftekhimik T. in Tobolsk and hope to win that game.
