Regular Season Round 18: MAFC - Szedeak 71-92
Date: January 17, 2015
Very expected game when 12th ranked MAFC (3-12) was smashed by eighth ranked Szedeak (7-8) in Budapest 92-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Szedeak. MAFC managed to win fourth quarter 26-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian guard Andrija Ciric (199-80, agency: BeoExcell) notched a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Serbian point guard Branko Jereminov (187-87) supported him with 16 points and 7 assists. Even a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Neiko Hunter (201-90, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) did not help to save the game for MAFC. Guard Zsolt Lakosa (194-91, college: MidAmerica Naz.) added 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Szedeak moved-up to seventh place. MAFC lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Szedeak will meet at home higher ranked Falco KC (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. MAFC will play against the league's second-placed Atomeromu (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
